strawman

uomo di paglia, dritto all’inferno
uomo di paglia, dritto verso il diavolo
Uomo di paglia
uomo di paglia
uomo di paglia
uomo di paglia
Qualcuno ha forse bisogno
di un razzo da duecento miliardi?
qualcuno ha forse bisogno
di una macchina da 60.000 dollari?
qualcuno ha forse bisogno
di un altro presidente?
o dei peccati di Swaggart, parte 6, 7, 8 e 9?
qualcuno ha forse ancora bisogno
di un altro politicante
beccato coi calzoni calati
uomo di paglia, dritto all’inferno
dritto a Dio?
qualcuno ha forse bisogno
di un altro inutile grattacielo?
se siete come me sono sicuro
fluttuante sull’Hudson
quando sputi controvento
ti torna dritto in faccia
Uomo di paglia, dritto verso il diavolo
uomo di paglia, dritto all’inferno
uomo di paglia, dritto verso il diavolo
Uomo di paglia, uomo di paglia
uomo di paglia
uomo di paglia

"La Favorite" - Gaetano Donizetti - 1840

Atto Quarto - Scena Terza - Fernando Solo

Favorita del re! qual negro abisso,
qual mia trama infernal, la gloria mia
avvolse in un istante,
e ogni speme troncò del core amante!
Spirito gentil ne' sogni miei
brillasti un dì ma ti perdei:
fuggi dal cor, mentita speme,
larve d'amor, fuggite insieme.
Donna sleal, a te d'accanto
del genitor scordava il pianto;

Vegemite!

at my most beautiful

Ho trovato un modo per farti
ho trovato un modo
un modo per farti sorridere
ho letto pessime poesie
nella tua segreteria
ho salvato i tuoi messaggi
solo per sentire la tua voce
tu ascolti sempre attentamente
le rime contorte
dici sempre il tuo nome
come se non sapessi che sei tu
il tuo meglio
ho trovato un modo per farti
ho trovato un modo
un modo per farti sorridere
il mio meglio
conto le tue ciglia di nascosto
per ognuna di esse, sussurro ti amo
mentre ti lascio dormire
lo so... mi stai guardando ad occhi chiusi
ascoltando
penso di aver visto un sorriso
ho trovato un modo per farti
ho trovato un modo
un modo per farti sorridere

Chapter 24

Tutto il movimento
Si compie
In sei stadi
L'azione porta buona fortuna
Tramonto

L’azione porta buona fortuna
Tramonto
Alba

sunday morning

Domenica mattina
fa entrare l’alba
è solo un’inquietudine
al mio fianco
Albeggia presto
domenica mattina
sono solo gli anni sprecati
che incalzano
Attento, il mondo è alle tue spalle
intorno ci sarà sempre qualcuno
che ti chiama
non è niente
Domenica mattina
e sto cadendo
ho una sensazione
che non voglio sapere
Albeggia presto
domenica mattina
sono tutte quelle strade che hai attraversato
non molto tempo fa
Attento, il mondo è alle tue spalle
intorno ci sarà sempre qualcuno
che ti chiama
non è niente
Attento, il mondo è alle tue spalle
intorno ci sarà sempre qualcuno
che ti chiama
non è niente

Jokerman - Bob Dylan

Standing on the waters casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing.
Distant ships sailing into the mist,
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing.
Freedom just around the corner for you
But with the truth so far off, what good will it do?
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.
So swiftly the sun sets in the sky,
You rise up and say goodbye to no one.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread,
Both of their futures, so full of dread, you don't show one.
Shedding off one more layer of skin,
Keeping one step ahead of the persecutor within.
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.
You're a man of the mountains, you can walk on the clouds,
Manipulator of crowds, you're a dream twister.
You're going to Sodom and Gomorrah
But what do you care? Ain't nobody there would want to marry your sister.
Friend to the martyr, a friend to the woman of shame,
You look into the fiery furnace, see the rich man without any name.
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.
Well, the Book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy,
The law of the jungle and the sea are your only teachers.
In the smoke of the twilight on a milk-white steed,
Michelangelo indeed could've carved out your features.
Resting in the fields, far from the turbulent space,
Half asleep near the stars with a small dog licking your face.
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh. oh. oh. Jokerman.
Well, the rifleman's stalking the sick and the lame,
Preacherman seeks the same, who'll get there first is uncertain.
Nightsticks and water cannons, tear gas, padlocks,
Molotov cocktails and rocks behind every curtain,
False-hearted judges dying in the webs that they spin,
Only a matter of time 'til night comes steppin' in.
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.
It's a shadowy world, skies are slippery gray,
A woman just gave birth to a prince today and dressed him in scarlet.
He'll put the priest in his pocket, put the blade to the heat,
Take the motherless children off the street
And place them at the feet of a harlot.
Oh, Jokerman, you know what he wants,
Oh, Jokerman, you don't show any response.
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman.

beast of burden

I'll never be your beast of burden
My back is broad but it's a hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles my feet are hurting
All I want is for you to make love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
I'll never be your beast of burden
So let's go home and draw the curtains
Music on the radio
Come on baby make sweet love to me
Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough
I'm not too blind to see
Oh little sister
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, girl
You're a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Pretty, pretty
Such a pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Come on baby please, please, please
I'll tell ya
You can put me out
On the street
Put me out
With no shoes on my feet
But, put me out, put me out
Put me out of misery
Yeah, all your sickness
I can suck it up
Throw it all at me
I can shrug it off
There's one thing baby
That I don't understand
You keep on telling me
I ain't your kind of man
Ain't I rough enough, ooh baby
Ain't I tough enough
Ain't I rich enough, in love enough
Ooh! Ooh! Please
I'll never be your beast of burden
I'll never be your beast of burden
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles and my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me
I don't need beast of burden
I need no fussing
I need no nursing
Never, never, never, never, never, never, never be

kingdome come

Camminavo sotto una pioggia fitta
Quando sentii una voce gridare
"è tutto inutile"
La voce del destino
brillava nella mia stanza
Ho bisogno di un solo giorno
in qualche luogo lontano
Signore ho bisogno di un solo giorno

Beh romperò queste rocce
E falcerò questo fieno
Si romperò queste rocce
Qual è il prezzo che devo pagare?

Beh il fiume è così fangoso,
ma potrebbe diventare limpido
E so fin troppo bene cosa mi tiene qui

Harborcoat

They crowded up to Lenin with their noses worn off
A handshake is worthy if it's all that you've got
Metal shivs on wood push through our back
There's a splinter in your eye and it reads 'REACT'

They shifted the statues for harboring ghosts
Reddened their necks, collared their clothes
Then we danced the dance till the menace got out
She gathered the corners and called it her gown

Please find my harborcoat, can't go outside without it
Find my harborcoat, can't go outside without it

They crowded up to Lenin with their noses worn off
A handshake is worthy if it's all that you've got
Metal shivs on wood push through our back
There's a splinter in your eye and it reads 'REACT', R-E-A-C-T

They shifted the statues for harboring ghosts
Reddened their necks, collared their clothes
Then we danced the dance till the menace got out
She gathered the corners and called it her gown

Graceland

Il delta del Mississippi risplendeva
come una Chitarra Nazionale
sto seguendo il fiume
lungo l'autostrada
attraversando la culla della guerra di secessione
Sto andando a Graceland
Graceland
A Memphis nel Tennessee
sto andando a Graceland
e (tutti) stiamo andando a Graceland
a Graceland
Sto andando a Graceland
a Memphis nel Tennessee
Sto andando a Graceland
e (tutti) stiamo andando a Graceland
E i miei compagni di viaggio
sono fantasmi e tasche vuote
sto guardando fantasmi e cose vuote
ma ho ragione di credere
che saremo tutti accolti
a Graceland
C'è una ragazza a New York
A Graceland, a Graceland
sto andando a Graceland
ogni amore, ogni fine
o forse non c'è nessun obbligo ora
forse ho ragione di credere
che saremo tutti accolti
a Graceland

Nobile Ottuplice Sentiero

I won't back down

Bene, so cosa è giusto, ho solo una vita
No, non mollerò

Piano Man

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
the regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin
He say, Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes
Da da da de de da
da da de de da da da
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright
Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says Bill, I believe this is killing me
As the smile ran away from his face
Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright
Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davy who's still in the navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinking alone
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday,
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about life for awhile.
And the piano sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say "Man, what are you doin' here?"
Da da da de de da
da da de de da da da
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight.
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

e i tuoi pianti, pianti

Losing My Mind

Every time I fall
I bring you along
Because I need you there
Every time I leave
For my selfish things
I know I'm wrong
No matter what I want to believe
Nothing like this comes easily
I love you, yes I love you
Even though I know I should stay away
Because I hate you, yes I hate you
Even though it looks like I'm going to stay
And I think that I'm losing my mind
My time in the dark
Was tearing me apart
And that's not okay
A man of blood and bones
Alone on his throne
could walk away
Oh how your web has been spun
And I'm out of my mind
And it ain't no fun

Soothe Me

Soothe me baby
Soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For you know your powerful love is soothing to me
Soothe me baby
Soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For you know your powerful love is soothing to me
Oh
How I used to ramble
And how I used to roam
Oh
But since I met that baby of mine all I do is stay at home
And I tell her
Soothe me baby
Soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For you know your powerful love is soothing to me
Oh
I used to have a lot of girls
Have them big and small
Oh
But since I met that baby of mine I know no other girls at all
I just tell her
Soothe me baby
Soothe me
Soothe me with your kindness
For you know your powerful love is soothing to me
It's so soothing to me
Your love babe is soothing to me

Oh, Serafina!

Cheers

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.
Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got;
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
All those night when you've got no lights,
The check is in the mail;
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail;
And your third fiance didn't show;
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your name.
Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead;
The morning's looking bright;
And your shrink ran off to Europe,
And didn't even write;
And your husband wants to be a girl;
Be glad there's one place in the world
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to go where people know,
People are all the same;
You want to go where everybody knows your name.
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came...

Good Times Bad Times

In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man,
Now I've reached that age, I've tried to do all those things the best I can.
No matter how I try, I find my way into the same old jam.
Good Times, Bad Times, you know I had my share;
When my woman left home for a brown eyed man,
Well, I still don't seem to care.
Sixteen, I fell in love with a girl as sweet as could be,
Only took a couple of days 'til she was rid of me.
She swore that she would be all mine and love me till the end,
But when I whispered in her ear, I lost another friend, oooh.
I know what it means to be alone, I sure do wish I was at home.
I don't care what the neighbors say, I'm gonna love you each and every day.
You can feel the beat within my heart.
Realize, sweet babe, we ain't ever gonna part.

Mattatoio n. 5

Quartetto Cetra - Crapa Pelada

A voi, miei signori, io voglio narrare
la storia che tanto mi fa disperare.
Con ciocche sebenti che vedo cadere
dal capo i capelli bianchi,
ormai son pelato, deluso, avvilito,
non so quali cure adottar.
Ma senti cosa dice
quel povero infelice
:
"Non ti lamentar,
ma prova a cantar
con noi questa canzon".
Crapa Pelada la fà i turtei,
ghe ne dà minga ai sò fradei.
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
I sò fradei fan la fritada.
ghe ne dan minga a Crapa Pelada.
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Crapa Pelada la fà i turtei,
ghe ne dà minga ai sò fradei.
I sò fradei fan la fritada.
ghe ne dan minga a Crapa Pelada.
Crapa Pelada la fà i turtei,
ghe ne dà minga ai sò fradei.
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Crapa Pelad.......
Crapa Pelada la fà i turtei,
ghe ne dà minga ai sò fradei.
Crapa Pelada, con la parrucca
forse potrá dormir!

TURN TO ME

If you gave up major vices
You're between a hard place and a wall
And your car breaks down in traffic on the street
Remember, I'm the one who loves you
You can always give me a call
Turn to me, turn to me, turn to me
If you father is freebasing and your mother turning tricks
That's still no reason that you should have a rip
Remember, I'm the one who loves you
You can always give me a call
Turn to me, turn to me, turn to me
When your teeth are ground down to the bone
And there's nothing between your legs
And some friend died of something that you can't pronounce
Remember, I'm the one who loves you
You can always give me a call
Turn to me, turn to me, turn to me
You can't pay your rent
Your boss is an idiot
Your apartment has no heat
Your wife says: Maybe it's time to have a child
Remember, I'm the one who loves you
You can always give me a call
Turn to me, turn to me, turn to me
What it's all too much
You turn the TV set on and light a cigarette
Then a public service announcement comes creeping on
You see a lung corroding or a fatal heart attack
Turn to me, turn to me, turn to me

RED SHIRLEY
